Science Day 2025

On August 14, 2025, the Faculty of Science at Mahasarakham University held the opening ceremony of the 41st National Science Week under the theme “Science for Driving Communities Toward Sustainability.” The event took place on August 14–15 and 18, 2025, with Associate Professor Dr. Prayuk Sriwilai, President of Mahasarakham University, presiding over the opening ceremony. Associate Professor Dr. Sunan Saikrasun, Dean of the Faculty of Science, delivered the opening remarks outlining the objectives of the event.

The event featured various science competitions and contests, along with exhibitions from both internal and external organizations. These activities aimed to inspire and enhance scientific knowledge among youth and the general public.

This year, the Walai Rukhavej Botanical Research Institute showcased several outstanding projects, including the official designation of Ban Koeng Field Station as a “Dark Sky Area,” kayaking experiences for visitors to try and photograph, research and production of kombucha tea made from dates for tasting, learning about local household vegetables, herbal compresses from the Chao Na Kha large-scale farming community enterprise, and hands-on herbal inhaler workshops where participants could take home their creations as souvenirs.

This event served as a vital platform for connecting science with community development, fostering awareness and promoting genuine sustainability.
