Mahasarakham University (MSU) organise events aimed to promote conservation and sustainable utilisation of the land, including forests and wild land on campus. The following budget and policy will be implemented by Mahasarakham University (MSU) in 2024 to support the initiatives of sustainable land utilization at Walai Rukhavej Botanical Research Institute (WRBRI):

1. Walai Rukhavej Botanical Research Institute, Mahasarakham University, collaborated with CP All Public Company Limited in the "Planting Forests, Planting the Future" project.On December 5, 2024, Walai Rukhavej Botanical Research Institute, Mahasarakham University, in collaboration with CP All Public Company Limited, organized the "Planting Forests, Planting the Future" activity at the Na Dun Operation Station, Walai Rukhavej Botanical Research Institute, Mahasarakham University, to collaborate on creating green spaces and combating global warming. This project is part of CP All's commitment to increasing green spaces, promoting sustainability, and maintaining the natural balance in Thailand, with a target of 1 million trees by 2025. In this time, more than 10,000 trees were planted, with support from CP All Public Company Limited, in the forest area of ​​the Nadun Operations Station. The trees planted included namely Makha Mong, Daeng, Cana, Paduak, Neem, Thongkwao, Rosewood, and Rain Tree, all of which are beneficial to the ecosystem and help reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

2. The project of land development for organic rice, herb, and crop production at WRBRI is carried out by MSU in collaboration with the Earth Safe Foundation for the sustainable use of the land (started 2021-present). On November 19, 2024, Harvesting rice in an organic rice field, following the traditional farming lifestyle of the Isan people. This harvest was meticulously carried out to select the best rice varieties for preservation and planting the following year.
