14.5.3 Programmes towards good aquatic stewardship practices

Mahasarakham University and the National Water Resources Office hope to promote aquatic animal conservation by establishing sanctuaries and common rules restricting fishing during the spawning season and stop fishing too much. Encourage the creation of a fish fund for the aquaculture of economically valuable aquatic species. Aquatic animal commercial reproduction to increase the population of aquatic creatures As a result, fisherman in the area now have more fish resources in the Mekong river, which will boost their future income.

The Wang Pla Project and Community Tree Bank in river is under 8 provinces: Chiang Rai, Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Amnat Charoen and Ubon Ratchathani. It has been implemented in 2019--present. On 3 February 2023, hold a meeting forum for expressing opinions and disseminating in Nakhon Phanom province .

In 2021--present, the project to follow up operations activity of The Wang Pla Project and Community Tree Bank in Mekong River by local community from Phanom subdistrict, Tha Uthen district, Nakhon Phanom province. On 3 February 2023, hold a meeting forum for expressing opinions and disseminating with local community.
