Thailand’s National Canal Conservation Day in 2022 in MSU, Mahasarakham, Thailand.
World Wetland Day 2022 was postponed due to the COVID situation and long term flooded at MSU in this year, On June 23, 2022. Mahasarakham University (MSU) supports the budget for Walai Rukhavej Botanical Research Institute to organize activities. We cooperate with Mahasarakham provincial office and Koeng subdistrict administrative organization in beautiful canal project with clear water in oxbow lake and Thailand’s National Canal Conservation Day at Kut Daeng, an oxbow lake in the Chi-Mun River of Thailand, on the importance of one of the tributaries of the lower Mekong River and its flow to the South China Sea in Vietnam. We start dredging water hyacinth and weeds in this month. The activities to educate on oxbow lake ecosystems management, conservation zone, and sustainable utilization of water resources and biodiversity for human life in wetland at the Kerng sub-district community. To use weeds to make compost to grow organic vegetables around the lake. 35 people are involved in activities.
