Mahasarakham University have a policy, process or practice on waste disposal covering hazardous materials in 2024.

Mahasarakham University is committed to upgrading laboratory safety to meet international standards. In particular, the management of chemicals and hazardous waste to prevent impacts on health, personnel and the environment, therefore, the following waste management policies and guidelines (including hazardous materials) are established:

1. Encourage laboratories to use a common chemical and hazardous waste management system to ensure safety and meet international standards.

2. Operators and users must comply with safety standards and receive training appropriate to their job description.

3. A system for regular inspection, monitoring, and evaluation of safety is in place.

Waste Management System

1. Waste data is recorded both in paper and electronic form.

2. Waste data is reported and risk is assessed in accordance with hazardous substance management standards.

3. Prepare containers for hazardous waste in the laboratory.

4. Chemicals to be disposed of must be classified and labeled "To be Disposed of" with the chemical's name.

The Buildings and Facilities Division, in collaboration with faculty of Environment, the faculty of Science, the Faculty of Technology, and the Central Laboratory, has implemented the “Disposal of Chemicals from Laboratories and Deteriorated Chemicals 2024” project to create safety in the laboratories, reduce the risk of accumulation of hazardous chemicals, and manage chemicals in accordance with the university's safety and environmental standards.
