Water Quality Control and Wastewater Discharge University has established water quality standards that must be monitored before discharge into natural water sources, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations set by the Pollution Control Department (PCD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All discharged wastewaters must undergo appropriate treatment processes, such as the university's central wastewater treatment system, to ensure key parameters meet the standard criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand): Must not exceed legally mandated limits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand): Must be maintained at safe levels.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>pH: Must be within the appropriate range (6-9).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and Oil\/Grease: Must not exceed standard limits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heavy Metals and Toxic Substances: Must be within safe limits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Guidelines for Water Conservation and Recycling<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; - Promote water recycling: Encourage the reuse of treated water for purposes such as watering plants or cleaning common areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; - Install water-saving equipment in buildings and dormitories, such as low-flow faucets and flow detection systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; - Monitor and inspect for water leaks to minimize loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Participation and Awareness Campaign<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; - Organize campaigns to raise awareness among staff and students regarding water conservation University has the guidelines and process on water discharge on campus under the responsibility of Division of Buildings and Grounds such as reusing the water from cleaning in every segment to
