The feast for the community guardian spirit at Nadoon station, Nadoon district, Maha Sarakham province.
At 8th May 2019, WRBRI hold the feast for the community guardian spirit at the shrine in Kok-Dong-Keng forest, Nadoon station. The guardian spirit has been respected by the communities in the vicinity of the forest. The feast has been annually hold for a very long time to preserve the prolonged local culture. The feast is consisting of the offering to the guardian spirit and the others that inhibit in the forest and the drawing lots using chicken chin to forecast the future events.
The results of casting chicken’s chin.
- The house chicken’s chin is bent. This results in forecasting that the rainfall will be true to season all the year.
- The field chicken’s chin is quite straight. This results in forecasting that the agriculture on the plain will be flourish but the cultivation on the hill may be partly damaged.
The results of the traditional rocket
- The village’s rocket reach high altitude. This results in forecasting that the village will be flourish and will be developed.
- The field’s rocket reach very high altitude. This results in forecasting that rice cultivation will have a good output.
